The concept of empowerment has always remained on the front burner of every administration, especially in Gombe State where the administration of Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo feels it represents one of the most practical and realisable means of fulfilling his promises to the citizens in view of the overwhelming mandate to him in 2011.

A group of women vegetable farmers in the Odogbo barracks in Ibadan (popularly known as ‘Efo Women’) has commemorated one year anniversary of RUAF intervention in their farming community. They celebrated efo (vegetable) as a viable and productive business Enterprise. In 2008 a RUAF-CFF pilot project was targeted to the vegetable farmers at Odogbo barracks, Ibadan.

The Sun Publishing Limited has entered into a pact with the Nigeria Police to work in building consensus that would lead to free, fair and secure elections in 2015. The agreement between the two organisations was ratified yesterday in a meeting between the Managing Director of The Sun Publishing, Mr. Femi Adesina, and the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar at the office of the IGP in Abuja. At the parley, Adesina who intimated the chief cop of the plans of the medium to hold a security summit in liaison with the police as its contribution towards safe and secure elections this year and in 2015, pointed out the need for a safer polity to enhance progress and development.
